How long have you been in business?

South OC Maids serves south Orange County as a new subsidiary of our parent company, Maids Cleaning Orange County, LLC. However, our cleaners, supervisors and managers have individual experience in the industry that ranges between 5 and 25 years.

Are you insured?

Yes, we are fully licensed and insured to protect our clients homes and possessions. We also carry Liability Insurance on all our vehicles and Workers Compensation Insurance to protect our cleaners in case of work related injuries or sickness. Proof of insurance is available at our office.

Why are your prices higher than some other companies or independent cleaners I’ve contacted?

Residential cleaning is an "unregulated industry", that's why there are so many cleaning companies and individuals who clean homes illegally. They can undercut competition prices by putting their clients and employees at risk. In other words, they have not taken necessary steps to become a legitimate business.

Independent cleaners, and even some larger companies, seldom carry any insurance to protect the homeowner’s possessions. An even smaller number carry workers compensation.

Many of these illegal cleaners hire, or are themselves, undocumented workers. Their income is unreported and untaxed. Because of this, they have almost no overhead and can offer low prices. Unfortunately, clients have no recourse for compensation from these companies if they are unsatisfied or if their belongings are broken or stolen.

In some cases, clients may become responsible for the cleaner's medical expenses if they get hurt on the job. Even if the claims are false. They may also be responsible for the cleaner's taxes if the income earned is reported to the IRS.

Few, companies provide strict pre and post hiring drug screening, physical exams, background checking and training as we require from each employee. This translate into peace of mind for our clients and helps create a safe, healthy work environment for our cleaners.

Our office can provide proof of all the documentation described above.

Am I required to sign a contract?

No, you do not need to sign a contract and you can cancel whenever you want. We do give a discount to our clients who pay us on an established schedule.

Do I need to be at home when the cleaners are there?

In most cases, no, you do not need to be home when our cleaners are there, many of our clients are away or work during our cleanings. We will need to have a key or security code for the alarm system. We have procedures in place to keep your keys and codes secure.

Are your employees trustworthy?

Yes, all of our employees go through an intensive background check and verification process before they even begin training. We only hire employees that we can trust cleaning our own homes, because they do!

Can my scheduled cleaning be changed or cancelled if an emergency comes up?

Yes, call our office as soon as possible and we will do our best to accommodate your needs. We do require a 24 hour notice of cancellation or we will need to charge a $35 cancellation fee.

What if I am unhappy with the service I receive?

We have a 100% 24 Hour Guarantee policy, so if you are displeased with the work performed, call our office and we will return to your home within twenty-four hours to fix the problem until you are satisfied with the results.

What if something is broken?

Accidents rarely happen. Unfortunately, rarely does not mean never. If something is broken, we will write you a note and leave it with your invoice. Someone will contact you to find out how we can replace or pay for the item. We would rather not clean irreplaceable or valuable objects, so whenever possible, please make sure that they are in a safe place when the cleaners arrive.

How do I pay for my cleaning?

We accept cash, checks, or credit cards (VISA, MC, DISCOVER) . Please call the office to arrange your service schedule to be charged to your credit card, or you can leave the payment on the kitchen counter in an envelope.

What do I need to do about my pets?

We're a pet loving company. One of our owners is a veterinary surgeon with more than 25 years of experience caring for domestic animals. She is also the primary physician for all the dogs of the Long Beach Police Department K9 unit, as well as the Federal Government dogs housed at the Long Beach Police Academy.

Our cleaners receive comprehensive training about pet caring while cleaning. If you have pets, we will write copious notes about their breed, size, temperament, favorite toys, habits and any special instructions on your worksheet. No other cleaning service gives this much attention to their client's pets. Let us know what you would like us to do.

Despite all the precautions and preparations, it is probably best to put skittish animals in another room while we are working – especially while running the vacuum.

If you own aggressive, overly protective or territorial dogs, we may ask someone over the age of 18 be present during the cleanings. For safety and insurance reasons our cleaners cannot pick up pet waste.

Do I need to provide cleaning products and equipment?

We provide everything we need to clean your home. We do this so that our employees are familiar with the products and tools they use. We use professional grade and environmentally sensible supplies and always have extras with us so that we don’t have to worry about running out of product.

Do your employees speak English?

Yes, each of our cleaning teams has at least one cleaner who is fluent in the English language to ensure effective communication with our clients. Some of them speak other languages, as well.

What do I do if I need extra work done?

You can call our office at least one day in advance, if possible, so that we can schedule any extra time that might be required or you can schedule the changes online. Our cleaners receive a daily schedule of their cleaning and routes as prepared by management the night before or very early the morning of the cleaning.

Extensive extra work may require a separate scheduled cleaning, but we will do our best to accomodate your needs without upsetting other clients' schedule cleanings. Call us to discuss it  (949) 544-0808
